Just another exterior picture of the house. The large opening downstairs is a sliding glass door that goes into the basement. Above it is the living room, center is the dining room, and to the left is the family room which will have french doors going out to a deck.
In just a week they have built all the exterior walls upstairs, its hard to believe how quickly things are happening, I'm starting to feel anxious about how its all going to turn out. We finally decided on a mossy green for the siding, but we won't see how it looks on the house until its all delivered and put up since it comes pre-painted from the factory. The Roof will be going up Tuesday. Yay!! And I'm sure all the interior walls will be framed by the end of the week. 
In just a week the basement was framed! Today they are putting on the upstairs floor and hopefully putting the plywood on so we can walk around on it and check out the view. I'll post again when the second story starts going up.
The framing has begun! The basement level is getting walls so we can start to see it taking shape. There's a lot of lumber to use and it sounds like it will be used quickly. They told us the roof trusses would be arriving June 3rd, so that gives them about two weeks to get the walls up on all sides, and have it ready for the roof.
Today they took the forms off the walls and its starting to look like a foundation. There's no changing our minds now!
Well today was really exciting as the concrete and pumper trucks were at the property to pour our foundation walls! For those from Vashon, that's Max from Highschool in the back with the hose. I can't wait until they take off the forms and we can see the walls.
Yesterday the footings for the foundation were poured and today they are building the forms that the concrete will be pumped into for the walls. They'll probably pour the walls next Tuesday, then its onto the floors! It is feeling a lot bigger now that the walls are taking shape. We closed on our Loan on Monday so we can officially pay for the work being done to build our house. The construction part is just beginning but its been so much work getting to this point that I can hardly wait to get to the furninshing and decorating part! --Jenny 
Today we broke ground on our house! Yay! I didn't think I'd ever see this day come to pass. But it finally has. Today the rest of the trees in the drainfield area were also cleared and there's a huge pile of alders to take to the mill for lumber (which means cash for us :o) We'll probably start posting things more often now that progress is being made, so check back often :o) Our goal is to be in the new house by Christmas. We'll see if that happens.

brings burried phone, cable and power lines, and nearly all the trees down from the clearning limits around the house. The driveway has a layer of gravel and the path is cleared to put the temporary road in to the well. We hope that by this coming Friday the well drilling will begin. The property is much more open to the road so we'll have plenty of privacy planting to do later, but for now we're enjoying the total transformation that will eventually yield us a home for ourselves and our future family.
More of the area was cleared today. Now the temporary road to the well is pretty well cleared out and more trees were taken down. They had a burn pile going for the stumps too.
The kids made their first visit to our "house". They love the huge excavator and playing in the dirt. I don't think I ever loved the smell of dirt more. we've taken out a number of trees and its really opening up. I can't believe its only been 2 days and we almost have a driveway. Its pretty awesome. We're so grateful for the blessings of the Lord. 
After 2 years of hoping and 1 year of planning, the first steps are finally being made to build our house! The driveway started going in today which really changes my perspective on the property. It's no longer a plot of land, it's a place where our house will be!
